Cute as a button and fully designer dressed pugs are the latest smart collab between Unicef in a campaign called ‘Pug Dogs for Happy Kids’ . Industry pioneers such as Balmain’s Christophe Decarnin, the new design duo behind Valentino and London’s latest graphic genius Mary Katrantzou have all taken part.

While we love the idea of Steiff’s stuffed dog creations to raise awareness, it’s mostly Katrantzou’s delirious design that truly look like a piece of art. Covered in tons of colourful, crystallised and shiny beads resembling a digital print or a futuristic flower bouquet the pugs look anything but underdressed.

Starting at $1 per animal on Luisaviaroma.com, the pugs are already extremely popular, with the Balmain baby leading the pack with biddings up to $1,358.57. All profits go direct to Unicef. Until the rightful owners get their hands on these pugs they will remain adopted by fashion’s finest bloggers such as Elin Kling and Bryan Boy. While artsy projects have been on the fashion calendar for decades, teaming up with a good cause like Unicef seems nothing short of absolutely fabulous.
